BIO

With 27 years of guitar-playing experience, 14 years of early childhood music teaching experience, and a lifetime of singing professionally and for the pure joy of it, Ms. Lianne Christman is an early childhood music educator specializing in teaching music to children from infants up to 8 years old.

Ms. Lianne was born and raised in Atlanta and has had her world constantly revolving around music since her own early childhood. Her first instrument was her voice, which led her to enroll in choir, then in band, and participate in musical theater throughout her youth. She began playing various instruments such as the clarinet, bass guitar, tin whistle, and even dabbled with the bagpipes. As an adult, Ms. Lianne studied music independently and began writing her own original music and performing while caregiving full-time for a loved one with health issues. In 2011, she was given an opportunity to teach preschool-aged children, and she fell in love with sharing music with kids.

Ms. Lianne’s approach to teaching is to meet the students where they are and to build confidence and musical skills from there. Her high-energy classes utilize singing, dancing, games, and a healthy dose of silliness to keep little learners engaged and excited. Many of Ms. Lianne’s students have gone on to take individual instrument lessons such as voice, guitar, drums, piano, violin, and more. Ms. Lianne is experienced in working with neurodivergent children and has had success teaching self-expression emotionally, verbally, and sonically.

In addition to being a music teacher, Ms. Lianne is also nurturing a love for music in little kids and big kids as the Atlanta Host/Teacher Assistant to the Rock and Roll Playhouse Band, performing concerts for families at Terminal West and similar event spaces.

You may also find her on set or in the studios with Georgia Public Broadcasting, working as part of their production crew around the state and assisting the Education Department to create content and resources for parents and teachers statewide.
